Dear INAR 188 Structural Principles Course Students

  • Firstly, I strongly urge you to give priority to the health of yourself, your family, your social milieu and the society above all. Please follow the announcements of our state and university and do as instructed.
  • Do NOT take into consideration any information you receive from any other source than the official ones. (YÖK, university, faculty, department, course teacher.)
  • Keep calm and don’t worry. We will reciprocally do our very best to conduct the INAR 188 course without creating any aggrieved party.
  • In the 2020-2021 academic year spring semester our course will continue online in a SYNCHRONOUS manner. This means that you will receive the course material via the university’s Webonline system and we will conduct the course in real-time.
  • In case of a technical difficulty on the university’s side or your side do not worry. After the technical difficulty is repaired, we will remedy the situation if necessary via one to one communication basis with the students.
  • I will upload the course content in the form of course notes, which include detailed instructions. These notes will be in English, which is the official teaching language of our university (I may include Turkish translations in critical points).
  • Course notes may be computerized or in my hand-writing scanned and converted to pdf format so that I can produce a large quantity of explanations faster and in detail.
  • In addition to these I intend to upload short videos including partial lectures and example solutions as much as technical infrastructure permits.
  • As you know in our course we build each topic on top of the previous one. Each week’s lecture constitutes the basis for the following week. For this reason our priority is not to cover too many topics. Our priority is for the vast majority of students participating the course to learn the topics we covered well.
  • For this reason, any delay in the course syllabus was already taken into consideration. I will NOT upload course materials on a weekly schedule, instead I will upload new course materials when I am sure that the majority of students have understood the previous topics well.
  • Don’t worry we will reach our course objectives at the end of the semester.
  • EXAMS will be conducted in the form of online assignment submissions.
  • Please know that when deciding the content of the exams and evaluating the results, I will take into consideration the extraordinary conditions we’re all going through.
  • The synchronous format of our course means that you can ask me questions and get answers during the course.
  • Students can ask all their questions pertaining to INAR 188 course FIRSTLY VIA Webonline if not possible via Webmail (cengizozmen@cankaya.edu.tr) to the teacher.
  • I will try to answer the questions as fast as I can. If there is commonality between questions I may make additions to course notes and videos.
  • When sending me messages via webonline or webmail please include in the message topic and in the message body COURSE CODE – STUDENT NAME SURNAME – STUDENT NUMBER information. Ask your question with grammatically correct full sentences and using the correct scientific terms.
  • I expect the students to actively use and follow their student e-mails in c1234567@student.cankaya.edu.tr format.
  • In addition to the Webonline page of the course please regularly follow the web page of the course via http://inar188.cankaya.edu.tr/
  • We will all go through a learning process in terms of online learning methods, software and course conduct. There will be mishaps from time to time. We will all do our best to make the process work to the best of our abilities.
  • With the hope of returning to our usual face to face format as soon as possible, I wish everyone success.
