WELCOME TO INAR 188 STRUCTURAL PRINCIPLES
Course Description:
In the designing of a building, an interior or a furniture, it is necessary to understand the way in which structures behave in relation to the materials and construction techniques used. The main objective of this course is to give Interior Architects the necessary information about basic structural principles.

EXAMS
Mid-Term date is announced in the course syllabus as “Evaluation of Topics” Any change in exam dates will be announced on the announcements section of the web page.
No additional material including books, cell phones or computers will be allowed in exams.
Mid-Term exam will be graded over 50 points and Final exam will be graded over 50 points.
Attention! Do not cheat. There will be a zero tolerance policy for the cheaters. Disciplinary action will be taken immediately.
ATTENDANCE
This is a theoretical course; as a result, students have an obligation to attend to at least 70% of the lecture hours. In practical terms, you have to attend at least 10 weeks of lecture in a 14 week semester. Otherwise, you will not be able to enter the final examination and your grade will be NA at the end of the semester. Attendance will be checked at the beginning of each lecture session (2 times each week). Late-comers will be considered absent for that session.
Students are expected to know their own attendance level.
REQUIRED HARDWARE
Students are required to acquire and learn to operate a scientific calculator. Please carry this calculator with you at all times; especially during the exams. Students will not be allowed to use any kind of computers, cell-phones with computers or share calculators during the exams. There will be no lecture notes. Students will use the given textbooks and refrencebooks. They can also take notes during lectures.
